Now this is what I call a coup. The Jamia Hafsa women have really made their presence felt in the center of Islamabad. Some if the images in these videos are mind boggling. I am amazed President Musharraf let such an institution grow and increase to such great numbers.

It seems to me that one reason why this situation has been allowed to go on as long as it has is to strengthen the general’s hand. By showing that the alternative to his dictatorship (his more and more unstable dictatorship) is theocracy, it becomes clear that people should not support democracy etc. that could weaken his hold on power. This is especially pertinent given strong criticism of the support taliban fighters recieve within our borders and the ongoing war in the west and north of the country etc.

I agree that sentiments such as these are rife in Pakistan (some people do yearn for religious law) but the audacity with which this institution has acted and the lack of a response strikes me as a bit odd.

If this is the case, I think this is a badly misjudged move. But once you have a movement such as this, what can you do? How do you enforce deals made in the previous period? Can you arrest these virtuous ladies? Not unless you want to make a bad situation worst.

    What does everyone think?

Can we please get the Air Force involved? One 1000-pound bomb should be enough to take out the whole damn mess. But lets make sure, and use at least 4…

How long is the government going to sit around and let these freaks terrorise people?

what i think is that the presidents inertia to contain the jamia hafsa lot comes after the ongoing chain of unfortunate events. not so long ago the lawyers raised a protest because of the cheif justice thing , the police broke into the geo office causing an outburst. this jamia hafsa thing will die down on its own.its best for the president not to antagonize them right now. diplomacy, thats what its called.

Students of Jamia Hafsa fought for a cause. How can you allow some one to destroy mosques and back up prostitutes. We got this country in the Name of Islam. We have o decide that what we are. Are we muslims or Not. do we believe in Allah and Prophet (PBUH) or Not. If so, we have to stand against bad things and stand for who is fighting of Good.

Each and every student of Jamia Hafsa is blessed.
